This 1947 Chevrolet 5 window 3100 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1947 Chevrolet released a completely redesigned series of trucks known as the Advanced Design Series. The trucks from the 1/2 ton 3100 to the commercial 1 ton 3800 were all exactly the same as far as the cab was concerned. They came in two different styles with the normal 3 window configuration but the true diamond in the rough was the now classic and highly sought after 5 windows. This design gave the cab two extra rounded windows in the cab corners which not only greatly increased visibility but looked absolutely amazing. This 5 window is now ready for today's world with a lot of the amenities that are not even thought about today. Basically what you are looking at is a 47 Chevy on a modern s10 chassis. That’s right the hard part is done, all the fab work is done and done well. Under the hood the strong running rather potent 305 starts with no hesitation and sounds great while rumbling down the road. Putting power to the road is the classic TH350 which handles the power nicely. Shifts are firm and crisp with the truck now being capable of even running at highway speeds. The front end has been modified with the modern style power steering giving this truck a great feel of the road, not to mention you can park it a lot easier at the next show. The red paint will definitely grab people's attention as it looks good from a distance but does have some flaws. The rear end is in great shape and has just had both leaf springs replaced giving the truck a great ride. With all of the glass looking fresh and clear inside the cab, viewing through those side windows is a great experience. The bench seat looks great wrapped in red vinyl and is very comfortable as well. All in all this is one cool truck that is an absolute blast drive and gets a ton of looks. If you have ever wanted to own one of these beauties but they were all a little pricey you better jump on this one at this price it won't last.
