1963 Chevrolet Impala

For sale is a 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS Tribute Convertible located in our Louisville Showroom. When you sometimes have trouble finding the car of your dreams, you just have to go out and build it. Such is the case with this Impala SS Tribute Convertible. Finding a convertible needing to be restored, the owner also scored what he thought was a W series big block 348 engine. Since this was going to be a tribute car, the 348 would give the right look. The 348 was sent off to the machine for a rebuild. The machine owner had to make a quick call to the current and give him some awful news, so he thought, the engine was not a 348 CID, but a 409! This little bit of news only added to the desirability of this tribute car. While the engine was being rebuilt, the body and chassis of the Impala were treated to a complete restoration. A quick look under the car will show just how clean and detailed the restoration is. The body was straightened and a fresh coat of bright white paint was applied. The interior is new and has been done in a tasteful red. It consists of red vinyl bucket seats, rear red vinyl bench seat, red loop pile carpet, chrome center console housing a 4-speed shifter. This particular SS Tribute Convertible has few options rarely seen on these cars such as power windows, and a tilt steering wheel. To give you an idea of just how picky the current owner is, the 1st new convertible top installed, did not fit properly. He had a 2nd top put by another company, and it still wasn’t to his liking. So one more time to get it right, by yet another company! Just goes to show, sometimes 3rd time really is the charm. While there is no such thing as perfect, the owner is obviously very meticulous and expects things to be done right. Getting back to that 409 W Series engine, it has been dressed out with Edelbrock aluminum valve covers, Edelbrock chrome breather, Edelbrock Aluminum Intake, ceramic coated headers, aluminum pulleys and a chrome alternator. The ignition system has been upgraded with Pro Comp components to insure easy start ups. An electric fan has been installed to insure the 409 stays cool while either sitting in traffic or blasting down the highway.
