1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe

This 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Streetrod is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1938 was not such a great year for Chevrolet. Sales were hurting with an estimated 43% downturn from the year before, it looked like they may have been a little too aggressive on pricing raising them 4.5% in the middle of a recession is arguably not a very smart thing to do. Styling however was going great for the Chevy brand that had brought in Pontiac's designer Franklin Hershey. Even to this day the 38's are sought after for their smooth and flowing lines which lend themselves nicely to Streetrod. This 38 has been given the classic Streetrod treatment. Under the hood is a great sounding and running 305 that gives this all steel rod plenty of power. Transferring the power to a TH350 transmission this rod is all about reliability. Outback a rear end from a 69 Camaro with a set of 3.23 gears was installed giving it the best of both worlds, low end acceleration but can still cruise down the highway without winding out that 305. Ofcourse you want to be able to stop all this beauty so a set of disc brakes was added upfront drastically reducing the stopping distance as well as giving it a much better feel. The Body on this beauty is as straight as I have seen with a complete set of NOS fenders installed as well as a set of running boards she was ready for paint. The dark burgundy was laid down with multiple coats of clear on top achieving the glass finish that it has today. A gold leaf stripe was added to the center body line not only accenting the lines of the car but breaking up the solid burgundy paint just enough to really make the car standout. Inside the cloth interior is as comfortable as they come with the dash having some nice polished metal accents giving it a very custom feel. The vintage AC controls are in the perfect spot ensuring that the next road trip will be taken in the lap of luxury. The Streetrod market has seen a huge swing in popularity as of late and with this little gem priced where it is I would not imagine it being here long.
