It looked like a convertible but it was a solid roof design, in other words there were no pillars on the door giving it a much smoother look. Known as a hardtop or sport coupe the new design changed the car world as we know it. Could you imagine a world without the great hardtop muscle cars from the 60's? If it wasn't for these first generation Bel Airs those cars would have never happened. This 53 is far from your stock 53 with all of the options that you could want it is ready for a cross country trip while looking good enough to win at some of the biggest shows. The first thing drawing your eyes to this beauty has to be the paint. The base coat clear coat Viper Red fits the car nicely and is as smooth as it gets. The bright work is just as shiny with the white top tying it all together. Keeping with that old school theme under the hood is a modern 5.3 liter LS motor which just ahs a little over 31k miles on it. Also known as an LS1 motor it is a basic iron block roller motor that are designed to put out some good power. This one has been converted over using an Edelbrock setup. The electric choke allows for easy start ups while maximizing fuel economy. Running its power through a 700R4 OD transmission it’s not only reliable but super dependable. The interior has been redone with red and white roll and tuck style giving it a great look and feel. A center console was designed with a set of cup holders, power window switches, radio and vents for the Heat and Air. The custom pin-striping adds some character to this one of a kind build.
