This 1965 Dodge Coronet is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1965 marked the fifth installment of the Coronet line from Dodge. Appearing this year as an intermediate sized B-body and selling a little over 200000 units it was the number one car for MOPAR that year. 65 would also mark the first year of the big three having cars in the emerging muscle car segment. One of the most feared cars of this era was the ground pounding A990 Coronet. Packed with the holy grail of muscle car motors, the 426 HEMI would put these cars on the top of everyone's list. This Coronet is a tribute which with only a very limited run of 200 cars this is a great way to get that one of a kind car without breaking the wallet. Although not a Hemi, the 440 big block under the hood is the next best thing. Packed with 9.8 forged aluminum pistons and a Holley Street Avenger 670 feeding the big block just the right amount of fuel this 440 is nothing to be messed with. Internally the ISKY 292 Mega cam with 505 lift gives the car a nasty rumble at throttle and very lumpy lope at idle. The spent gasses are taken care of through the 2.5 inch MOPAR performance manifold which dump into the dual exhaust and really make the car sound the part. The Hi volume water pump keeps freshwater pumping through the huge radiator ensuring things stay nice and cool. The oversized 7 quart oil pan with high end oil pump ensures constant lubrication. Matched up to the classic 727 Torq Flite transmission which turns the original 65 8 3/4 differential which has a set of 2.76 gears. The interior is far from being anything like the A990 but it looks great. The buckets are covered in a very soft tan material and look great against the deep black paint. The dash is very clean with the heater delete and radio delete smoothing things out nicely. All of the gauges including the Speedo have been completely refurbished and look great but work even better. With MOPARS back on top of the collector car world this black beast is sure to have a new home before you know it. Options on this 1965 Dodge Coronet include; Vinyl Interior, Power Steering, and Aluminum Alloy Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. This 1965 Dodge Coronet can be seen, including an HD video, at www.gatewayclassiccars.com or call at 812-294-1555 for more information.
