This 2003 VW Sandrail, titled as a 2003 VW Dune buggy, is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. Also known as a rail these custom made vehicles were designed for mainly use in the dunes. With its lightweight, rear engine design, they make great straight line racers. With just a simple change of the rear tires from paddles to regular radials you have very capable street vehicle. This custom built, street legal show quality build has had well over 20 grand thrown at it not including the custom paint work. The rear part of this rail houses a 2000CC chromed out air cooled motor that has just about every go fast part thrown at it. With Weber carbs hanging off either side you can tell this thing is built to run. The flamethrower coil sends that extra spark to the clear red EMPI cap. The Empi intake manifolds look great and match the dual Weber's perfectly. Taking care of all those spent gasses is the loudest exhaust set up I have ever heard from 4 cylinders. The supertrapp stinger set up is one of the most popular ones on the market and after one listen I know why. With all this brawn your average transmission wouldn't cut it so a BMW 4 speed was sourced giving this beauty a virtually bullet proof drive train. Inside the custom touches are everywhere you look. From the five point harnesses in the cab to the detachable grant steering wheel everything is all about form and function. The VDO gauges keep all the important stuff monitored with the huge teach standing taller than any of them. The CNC machined parts on this VW really set it apart from the brake and clutch control pedals right down to the rear caliper and rotors which are all custom milled pieces. If you have wanted something different this is about as unique as they come. Name something else that can go to a car show get a trophy, cruise through town for a little stop light to stop light action all while on your way to a nice off-road park?
