SeatbeltsThis nice driver quality 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is located in our Louisville KY showroom. 1969 would mark the first year that the SS was an option and not a "line up". This allowed for much wider availability from the Malibu Sport coupe to the Chevelle 300 hardtop and even the El Camino. The package would include a cowl hood, standard 5 spoke wheels and of course enough SS396 badging to insure that no matter what side or angle you saw you were going to see some type of 396 badges. This El Camino is a true SS396 car. However about 1500 miles ago, the old 396 was replaced with a fresh 383 Stroker V8 crate engine. With the displacement nearly equal to the displacement to the old big block, this old car truck will haul the goods in more than one. The paint is in good shape but does show some age and wear. The bed does have bed liner coating to protect the bed from damage when hauling heavy stuff. The factory Rally wheels finish off the exterior and complete the period correct look. The interior which has fresh carpet and the seats have been recently recovered. The black bucket seats upfront are separated by the center console mounted horseshoe shifter which lets everyone know this car means business. With the massive power coming from the 383 Stroker V8 engine with this 12 bolt posi rear end will lay as much rubber as you command. If you are looking for a nice, SS El Camino that can still be used as it was meant to be used then you have found it.
