1969 Pontiac GTO

This well preserve 1969 Pontiac GTO is for sale in our Louisville Showroom. This particular example of Pontiac performance was originally ordered by a dealer in Knoxville Tennessee. A dealer in Sevierville Tennessee was interested the car, as he had a buyer for purchase. The GTO was originally ordered with an automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning and the 350 HP V8 engine. The buyer for the car requested a vinyl top be added to the car. Upon closer inspection, the 2nd dealer noticed the Goat actually had the 1968 360 HP 400 CID engine in it, most likely due to the early build of the 69. The dealer wanted to trade with the buyer, as he believed it would be more collectible in the future. Five year and 47000 miles later, the trade was made and the dealer put it in his collection where it remained until his death in 1997. The current owner bought the GTO at an estate sale in 1998. It still has the original Burgundy paint and Black interior. The new owner drove the muscle car for about a year and replaced the radiator and AC pump. The clock and radio were also refurbished at this time. Ne shocks and spring were installed to bring the back to its original ride height. The factory warning lights were replaced with factory gauge package. Even though the AM radio had just been reconditioned, the owner replaced it with an AM/FM unit. A new wood grained steering replaced the original factory unit. The console was also replaced with the “his & her” Hurst Shifter. It was during this time that the original 3.23 rear end was replace with a 3.55 posi-trac rear end typically order with a Judge package. All pieces have been replaced genuine GM parts. In 2005 the engine was rebuilt. The valve seats were replaced with harden ones to better handle the rigors of unleaded fuel. A new cam, intake, carburetor and distributor were installed at the time of the rebuild. The exhaust manifolds were also replaced with a set of headers. PHS documentation is also available for this 1969 Pontiac GTO. The original protecto plate, owner’s manual and books that originally came with the car will come with upon purchase. This is a true numbers matching car with only 73065 actual miles on the odometer miles.
