1966 Chevrolet El Camino

This absolutely beautiful 1966 Chevrolet El Camino is for sale in the Louisville showroom. This particular El Camino comes with the pedigree of once being owned by Ron Hornaday. Ron is a 4 time NASCAR champion in the prestigious race truck division. So when Ron isn’t racing trucks, he is building super cool toys like this beautiful El Camino. The ’66 UTE has been treated to a complete frame off /rotisserie restoration. Pictures of the underside show this Chevy Car/Truck is just as clean on the underside as it is the top. The ’66 El Camino now only has a little less than 500 miles on it, so it is a very fresh build. The exterior is a beautiful two tone metallic blue with all new chrome and bright work to finish it off. The new owner absolutely loved the look of the El Camino, but thought it needed just a little something. While the wheels looked good, they just needed to be upgraded to a larger size more modern size. These aftermarket wheels are aluminum 18’s in the front and 20’s in the rear. The lip has been machined to resemble a factory beauty ring and your choice of rally cap will fit the center section. For the application on these wheels, a set of Corvette Flat Caps were used, a very good choice in this author’s opinion. Under the hood is a very healthy 375 HP 327 CID V8 that is backed the legendary Powerglide two speed automatic. The interior is nicely done in cloth with racing seat belts paying tribute to Ron’s profession. The cabin is clean and simple with only a set of extra gauges being added under the dash to monitor the critical engine functions. The radio appears stock but is an aftermarket piece with AM/FM capability. If you are a diehard NASCAR fan, then will instantly know who Ron Hornaday and the collectability of this super clean El Camino.
