The Mercedes-Benz 280sl (model W113) is a two-seat roadster/coupe, introduced in 1968, and produced from 1968 through 1971. It replaced the 250 SL. Of the 23,885 W113 280 SLs produced, more than half were sold in the US. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes, and radial tires gave the W 113 superb handling for its time. The styling of the front, with its characteristic upright headlights and simple chrome grille, dominated by the large three-pointed star in the nose panel, paid homage to the then already legendary 300 SL roadster. This 280SL with both hard top and soft-top are in excellent condition. This Roadster has undergone a 3-year rotisserie restoration. The silky smooth 2.8L/180hp straight 6-Cylinder engine has been completely refreshed back to factory spec, and transfers power through a rebuilt 4-Speed Automatic Transmission. A highly desirable classic, this classic Mercedes convertible is in outstanding condition throughout and runs and drives excellent. The very rare option Becker AM/FM radio and A/C is in full working order. The top down summer days will be enjoyed in comfort and style. The Cognac leather interior is plush with no cracks anywhere along with the brown carpet; the interior is as nice as the day it rolled out of the factory.
