It wasn't until a little past the first decade into the turn of the 1900s when they started producing automobiles. Studebaker had a great run but pushing into the 60s they were in trouble as sales were declining. Their E-Series truck platform was dated and to revitalize it and work to boost sales the Champ was born. The Champ would hang in there until the end of the line for Studebaker in the United States for the model year of 1964. Here were have 1962 model. As you walk around the truck you get a strong sense of nostalgia of yesteryear. This truck and its heritage embody the soul of the American way of life and where we have come from. This truck is a survivor! The red paint has seen some time outdoors as any hard-working truck should, especially a ¾ ton. The red vinyl interior has normal signs of wear but is in good shape. Under the hood is a 289ci V8 with a 3-speed manual on the column that many like to call “3 on the tree." Current owner has had her for over 6 years and acquired it from their father whom bought it new from the dealer making this a single-family owned truck. Knowing this helps solidify the claim of survivor status and makes it mean so much more holding to its roots.
