Classic 1948 Chevrolet Suburban for sale in our Louisville, Kentucky showroom. This 1948 Suburban is a one of a kind street rod. You may have seen the Suburban on You Tube, Hotrod Hotline or in numerous magazines. The body is absolutely beautiful and the only metal known to have been replaced were the front floor pans, and it’s very nice work. The body and chassis are 48-53 era correct. As in most builds, there’s always some part or parts from another vehicle. The Suburban has the optional rear drop gate and upper hatch. “New” cables and winders installed. The beauty of this Classic Suburban doesn't end with the exterior, the undercarriage is clean and well built with Heidt’s Mustang II cross member and 2” drop spindles and manual rack and pinion steering. 91 Suburban Sway Bars front and rear. The interior of this amazing Classic Suburban you'll find complete new 4 bucket seat leather and tweed with custom carpets installed in winter 2011. Seats are “New” 2011 Honda Odyssey. . For your comfort, there is front heat and air, and rear air only,” Vintage Air” systems. Full VDO gauge package, cruise, tach, air shock gauge, and control panel (brake controller, fire extinguisher, electric wipers, AM/FM/CD player with 100 amp booster, new visors, tilt column, new rear view mirror. New glove box cover, new radio cover and ashtray, new horn button. All new handles, door locks and strikers, chrome door kick plates. Courtesy lights front and rear. There is still ample room for luggage, chairs, cooler etc in the rear behind seats!

ENGINE: 350 SBC, RV grind cam, Weiand intake, 600 Holley, Polished aluminum, matching raised rib valve covers and breather, billet wire looms, polished aluminum swivel water neck, Alan Grove A/T and A/C brackets, 140 amp chrome alternator, chrome oil pan, mini starter, exhaust manifolds ceramic coated.

TRANS: 350 Turbo, Chrome pan and chrome cover over Torque Converter

REAR END: 79 Chevy “Nova”

BRAKES: Complete “New” brake and shock system just installed.

New Corvette Double Diaphragm 8” Booster and Master Cylinder residual valves (NAPA and Wilwood)

“New” rear 11 x 2” backing plates, shoes, drums, hardware, wheel cylinders, E Brake Cables (Master Power Brakes)

New front 11” slotted and cross drilled rotors, “Big Bore”, 2 3/4” piston calipers, braided hoses, metering valve, bearings and seals (Speedway and CPP)

New KYB Front Shocks

New Monroe Rear Air Shocks with air pump, and inside gauge and control switch with dump valve: Note: The primary reason for adding the air shocks to the rear was added tongue weight and if you have four passengers and a full tank of gas, and “stuff” (Everybody has “stuff)! The vehicle has “never” hit bottom, just a precaution! The vehicle sits low, doesn’t bottom or rub and drives good.

BODY: Nice!!! All steel with all “new” door gaskets and seals (Lynn Steele)

PAINT: Dupont Base Clear Omaha Orange, Vanilla Shake White, Purple Graphic, Old School Pin striping, running boards are Line-X coated and fully functional.

GLASS: “All” new smoke tint, new welting and gaskets, Side windows slide and lock as original. V-Butt windshield and rear hatch glass.

FUEL TANK: “New” custom made stainless steel.

BATTERY BOX: “New” drop down stainless steel.

WIRING: Ron Francis Panel hidden under center console. Prodigy 2 electronic brake controller, 6” pin trailer connector.

TRAILER HITCH: 6000 lb. custom designed and installed for this vehicle. It’s a one of “custom design”. See wiring description above also.

EXHAUST: Cast iron manifolds (ceramic coated) “Y” pipe to 3” Flowmaster single exhaust. Sounds great but not too loud and doesn’t roar going down the highway.

BUMPERS: “New” (smooth) Rock Valley stainless steel.

TAIL LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS: LED Stainless Steel.

GRILL AND HEADLIGHT RINGS: “New” (Wheels of Time)

OUTSIDE MIRROR ARM & HEADS: “New” (Wheels of Time)

RADIATOR: Griffin Aluminum, Cooling Components and Spal fans.

WHEELS & TIRES: (Rear) Coys 22 x 9 with Pirelli 265 x 40’s. (Front) Coys 20 x 8 ½ with Pirelli 235 x 45’s. Wheels and tires have approx 1000mi since installed in winter of 2011!
