Other than the 1st year of ownership, the 2nd owner drove this car for several years before selling it to a mutual acquaintance. This 1981 Chevrolet El Camino was then treated to a makeover. The El Camino was taken apart with the frame, and the underside being cleaned up then repainted. The body was stripped down and repainted to the black/red two tone paint scheme seen here. A quad head light panel was installed to give this 1981 Chevrolet a cleaner crisper look. Suspension pieces including springs, bushing, shocks, tie rod ends, and ball joints have been replaced. The headliner, carpet and seat upholstery has been replaced less than 6100 miles ago. The tired V-6 was replaced with a Chevrolet 290 horsepower 350 cubic inch crate engine. To take advantage of the horsepower of this new engine, it has been mated to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. The new engine and transmission have only 6100 miles since the rebuild of this El Camino. The bed of this El Camino has been Rhino coated, and there is a removable hard cover for the bed. Other options for this El Camino include Air Conditioning (will need recharging), CD Player with 10 disc CD changer behind the driver’s seat, power brakes, power steering, power locks, keyless entry, seat belts, anti-theft system, cloth interior and polished aluminum wheels.
