This particular 1980 Chevrolet has a 454 cubic inch big block Chevrolet Engine that has been bored out to 461 cubic inches. The engine is fresh rebuild with 0 miles on it. The engine is connected to a Chevrolet 350 Turbo-Hydramatic with a Cheetah Turbo Shift, manual valve body with a trans brake. The shifter is a reverse pattern shifter for easier use when racing. The transmission converter is an 8 inch TCI 4500 stall converter. This 1980 Malibu is also equipped line lock to insure good burnouts, before launching from the starting line. The rear end is a bullet proof Ford 9 inch rear end with 4.86 gears and a full spool. For added strength to the rear end, the axles have been upgraded to 35 spline Moroso axles. The inside of the cockpit is set up nice with gauges to monitor the engine functions, switches for ignition, fuel, fans, two racing seats with 5 point safety harnesses, and a 6 point roll cage. This car rides on huge Mickey Thompson street tires in the back, and skinny’s on the front. If you are looking to get into drag racing, this car is a great start.
