The paint is a clear coat/base coat and it was applied to the Studebaker in 2010. On the exterior, subtle changes have been made. They include shaved door handles (performed in 2010), frenched antennas, 1937 Ford headlights, 1967 Cadillac taillights, and a3rd LED brake light molded into the rear of the cab. Under the hood, of this 1948 Studebaker Pick Up Truck is a chromed out Mopar 318 CID V-8 backed by a TorqueFlite A-727 automatic transmission. The engine was rebuilt in 2001, and only has a little over 8000 miles on it. A leather tan interior was installed in 2001. A set of Dolphin gauges monitor engine functions, and give the interior a clean, tasteful look. At this time, air conditioning was added to help keep the occupants cool on those hot summer cruises.
