This 1953 Dodge Pick Up is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. This 1953 Dodge is a gorgeous truck that has been totally taken down and built back up again. We can start with the front end. It was custom built for the truck to replicate a Mustang II front end. This helps with the stance of the truck as well as giving it a more comfortable ride. It also helps support the additional weight of the replacement motor. The 340 V8 was originally designed in the late 60\'s to give Chevys 350 and Fords 289 a run for their money. It was made by taking MOPAR’S already potent 318 block and boring it out by 103mm.They followed that up by tossing out the old cast iron crankshaft in favor of a much stronger forged steel one. Unfortunately this would all come a little too late. By 1973 the new emission laws made Dodge scrap the project making the 340 sought after to this day. The 340 is then linked up to an even more popular MOPAR staple, the 727 torq-flite. It has been in MOPARS arsenal for over 60 years now and is the go to piece when dependability and brute force are needed. Moving on to the bed of the truck, it has been finished in real wood that was coated with a clear lacquer and accented with polished aluminum strips holding it all together. On the four corners you will notice a set of chrome Cragars that finish off that classic show truck look. Hop in the cab and you will be surround yourself with soft tan leather. From the wrapped bench seat to the custom headliner even the door panels are finished off in leather.
