B series were produced by Dodge from 1948 to 1953, and were originally equipped with 95 hp Flathead inline 6 cylinder engines. The B Series trucks featured a high-visibility "pilot-house" cab, which has created its own following known as the “Dodge PilotHouse Era Truck Club of Americaâ€. There is even an enthusiast website for these trucks at DODGEPILOTHOUSECLUB.org, for you to join! Originally, this panel truck was used as a Forest Service Truck from Seattle, Washington. There is currently 77,325 Miles showing on the odometer. From 1990 to 2010 this 1949 Dodge Panel was located in Sparks (Reno), Nevada. The drive train is original with the exception of the engine. It is a 1953 Plymouth Flathead Inline 6 cylinder. Everything is in good working order; turn signals, brakes lights, radio, heater and the defroster. The Dodge B-1-B Panel Truck has good oil pressure, doesn’t overheat, the brakes are in good condition, and all gauges are in working order. The 1949 Panel Truck still uses the original 6 volt system for it electrical requirements. Reports indicate that this is only one of eight 1949 B-1-B Dodge panel trucks still licensed and registered in the US.
