Tilt Steering WheelThis 1940 Chevrolet Suburban Carryall is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Chevrolet Suburban is a large sport utility vehicle from Chevrolet. It is the longest continuous use automobile nameplate in production in the world, starting from 1934 for the 1935 U.S. model year, and has traditionally been one of General Motors' most profitable vehicles. Several automotive companies in the United States used the "suburban" designation to indicate a windowed, station wagon type body on a commercial frame including Dodge, Plymouth, Studebaker, Nash, Chevrolet, and GMC. Chevrolet began production of its all-steel "carryall-suburban" in 1935. This particular Suburban has been treated to a custom Street Rod Restoration. The show quality Maroon paint has been accentuated with simulated wood grain graphics. Everything is painted, no vinyl graphics, just awesome paint work. The front fenders and running boards are fiberglass. Under the steel hood is a Chevrolet 350 CID engine with a 350 Turbo Hydramatic 3 speed automatic transmission. The front suspension is from a Nova and it includes the sub frame to tie it all in. To make sure this big Suburban Carryall gets around the corners easily is a set of Corvette wheels wrapped in P275/40ZR17 Goodyear Radials. The interior has been finished in a tasteful leather tan interior with beige cloth inserts. The rear area of the Carryall has a beautifully finished red oak wood bed.
