Cloth InteriorThis 1926 Chevrolet Capital Sedan is for sale in our Louisville KY Showroom. The Ford Model T reigned supreme in the American automobile market. Cheap, mechanically simple, and easy to repair, the “Tin Lizzie†was much beloved by the American driving public. During the Model T’s reign, Ford made very little changes; sales began to slump and Ford shut down 6 months to retool for the Model A. This allowed other companies to move in. The most successful of these was the Chevrolet Capital. This particular Chevrolet Capital has been treated to a frame off restoration. New wood has been put it in the body mounts of the frame, and new window glass has been installed. The engine has been gone through with the rings, valves and valve springs being replaced. A 6 volt fuel pump has been installed to insure easier starts. The starter and windshield is also new. Inside, you will find a slight departure from original. The interior has been recovered in an automotive gray cloth. It makes it much more comfortable for those afternoon rides to your favorite car cruise. The tires and tubes are new; they ride on the original wheels.
