This 1939 Chevrolet 2 Door Town Sedan is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1937 was the beginning of a whole new line of cars for Chevy. Competing with the popular models from Ford, Chevy had the Cast iron wonder, a stout 6 cylinder that could take a beating. Those days are long gone for this 39 with a complete tear down and custom build it is definitely far from what Chevrolet had envisioned so long ago. The exterior has been treated with a custom Ford Regatta Blue Paint that has been broken up with a custom marble pinstripe that gives the car a very custom feel. The chrome has a very clean and finely polished look with a mirror finish. Open the hood and you will see one of the hot rodder’s go to pieces. A small block Chevy that has been bored .030 over giving it a total of 355 Cubic inches. A set of 882 heads were added giving it plenty of low end grunt. The Holley 600 feeds the flat top pistons just the right mix of fuel finishing off what many believe as an ideal street engine. With the motor taken care of the next step was a transmission. A turbo 400 was sourced and then took apart so a shift kit could be added making the shifts much more positive. Of course you are going to need a solid rear end to put this power to the ground and the 10 bolt that was installed does the trick. With a set of 3.08 gears it once again gives the perfect mix of low end punch with the ability to cruise at highway speed without turning 5 grand. Keeping all of this on track and improving ride quality is a 68 Nova sub-frame. Add to all this Boyd Codington Chrome wheels sitting at each corner and you are sure to catch everyone's eye. The interior is done in tasteful tweed and is very comfortable. The modern steering column is actually from an 86 Olds cutlass supreme with the Lecarra steering wheel finishing off this custom interior. Options on this 1939 Chevy 2 Door Town Sedan include; AC, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Cloth Interior, and Radial Tires on Aluminum Wheels.
