This 1938 Buick 90 Limited Touring Sedan is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1936 was the first year that Buick actually used names in its car line up. Before then they were simply known as 40, 60, and 90. The "limited" name was given because of the simple fact they were. Only available in either a limo or touring sedan ,as the one here, they were the most expensive Buicks in production. Riding on the extremely long 140 inch wheel base the limited was a very rare car with only 1500 being built that year. This 38 Limited touring sedan is in great mechanical condition with the original 320 CID straight eight under the butterfly hood has the VIN stamped directly on it. Maintaining its original 6 volt system as well as the points type ignition it is very period correct and runs without a catch. The brightwork on the exterior is very good condition as well with no major pitting or rust anywhere. The hubcaps are correct and exactly what you would see if the car was new. The spotlight on the driver door is period correct and even works . The two spare tire carriers, one on each fender, was a sign of class for those days and was just another way to signify the over top nature of this car. Open the driver door and hop behind the wheel you will see a set of full gauges in front of you laid out in a very simple order. Very rare for a car of this age. The stick for the manual 3 speed poking up between you and the passenger makes this Buick a blast to drive. Let's be honest though these cars were made to haul people and this one can do just that. With the two jump seats hidden in the floor the rear has a ton of room for the passengers to kick back and enjoy the ride. Lift the two seats up and a total of 8 people can go for a ride in relative comfort may I add.
