The deep black gloss paint was applied over 21 years. The current owner bought the car just as you see it, and has had to do nothing other than general maintenance. All the sheet metal is original to the car. Black is the original color to the car. Under the hood you will find the 348 CID V8 engine with the rare Tri-Power 280 horsepower carburetor set-up. The engine is backed by the original manual 3-speed transmission. Exhaust gases exit through a pair of factory cast iron manifolds, and a factory dual exhaust system. The car is very quiet, and rides silky smooth for a 55 year old car. The interior is the original Hound’s-tooth vinyl, and the carpet is a combination of rubber matting and carpet. The rubber matting is utilized in the high foot traffic areas to minimize wear, and has performed this well over the years. The interior looks just like it would have back in the day still sporting the original push button AM radio, factory instrumentation and a shift lever that reflects the 3 on the tree manual transmission. Unlatch the front latches, press a switch and the power top folds down into place, it’s just that easy. A nice black vinyl boot covers the top, and gives this Impala that clean crisp look a convertible should have when the top is down.
