This 1972 Chevrolet C10 Long Bed Pickup Truck is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. A new, more modern look came in 1967, along with a new nickname: "Action Line". It was with this revision of the C/K truck that General Motors began to add comfort and convenience items to a vehicle line that had previously been for work purposes alone. Updated styling features for the 1967 Chevy Pickup trucks came with new body sheet metal that helps fight rust and a pickup box made of double-walled steel. The majority of 10 and 20 series Chevrolet trucks from 1967 to 1972 were built with a coil spring trailing arm rear suspension, which greatly improved the ride over traditional leaf springs. The 1972 models were virtually identical to 1971 models, with the only change being the rear view mirror was glued to the windshield instead of being bolted to top of the cab, and metal or vinyl-covered flat door panels were no longer available; all trim level door panels were molded plastic with integral armrests and wood grain inserts on Cheyenne and Sierra trim levels. This beautiful ’72 C10 Long Bed has less than 5000 miles on the engine since being rebuilt. Used by a hard working Ford employee, to go back and forth to work in, it was semi-retired in the late 80’s. At that time the 350 CID engine was rebuilt and dressed up with an aftermarket chrome kit. The engine is mated to the original 3-speed manual transmission and posi-track rear end. The truck was painted the vibrant Red in 1986 using a paint called Imron. This paint is very tough and durable, which explains why the truck still looks so good 18 years later. The metal bed of the truck is in just as good of shape as the rest of the truck. Inside the cab of this truck, it is basic but very clean with a black vinyl bench seat and a matching rubber floor mat. In 1990, the owner scored a factory tachometer for the truck and had it installed. To give a little bit of style, but not to go over the top, is a set of True Spoke wheels that have been wrapped in Big O radial tires. Options include; AM/FM radio with cassette player, power brakes, power steering, seat belts and vinyl interior.
