The Lemans was first seen in 1962 as the top of line option available on the Tempest. 1964 however would ring in a whole new era for cars in general. The new craze was affordable small cars with high performance V8 engines. The GTO would take care of this for Pontiac and sales would begin to suffer for Lemans until 1970. With the costs of insurance absolutely sky rocketing on pretty much any car with a catchy name like Roadrunner, Superbee, & The Judge, this is where the low key yet very capable Lemans would make its comeback. The insurance company's did not know much about the Lemans and with the new Sport option giving you a rather potent V8 sales would begin to do very well again. Open the door and you will see one of the cleanest interiors to be put in a Pontiac. The period correct reupholstered buckets look great with the console housing that classic shifter handle. The Lemans nameplate on each door remind you that this a plush ride but can take care of business when needed. With GTO's only going up and up in price, the Lemans especially the sports have really started to take off in popularity.
