1969 Volkswagen Bus

Gateway Classic Cars Las Vegas is proud to present, this 1969 Volkswagen Bus.

In 1946, Volkswagen was busy producing Type 1 vehicles affectionately known as the Beetle. The idea for the bus or Type 2 was also born in 1946, however, a prototype had to wait while the German factory was flooded with Type 1 orders. Fast forward a few years to 1950 where 9,500 Type 2's were created in the first year of production. Aerodynamics were a big part of the Bus design, with drag being reduced by splitting the window and roof into the “V" design. In 1967 Type 2's lost their distinctive split window and gained a larger engine to compensate for a little more weight. This 69 VW' Bus is that vehicle. This 4-speed manual transmission paired to the 1100 engine is subtle yet strong. Her custom blue and white metallic drip paint definitely turns heads. Her body was repaired before repainted. Even the bumpers have been painted white to match the theme of the Bus. Carrying over the drip pattern to the interior on the cloth and leather seats, the vinyl dash and dark interior tint add to the atmosphere. Featured in center of the vinyl dash is the Kenwood Radio Deck with ability to play Aux, CD, and AM/FM radio. The gray cloth headliner shows no sagging and looks like faux suede, while below your feet the wood vinyl flooring looks ready for a square dance. All together this 1969 Volkswagen Bus is ready to roll, star in a movie show, or take a cruise down to the beach. She is sure to keep you smiling from being the coolest cat on the block on all your voyages.
