The Karmann Ghia was introduced in in Paris in 1953 as the Ghia with production beginning in the 1955 for sale to the public. The model designated Type 14 was successful right from the start in spite of its higher retail price. The price was largely due to the fact that the body panels were butt welded and hand shaped using English Pewter in a time consuming processed reserved for higher end automobiles. The results were a beautiful merging of Italian design and German engineering in a 2 seat coupe like nothing before.
This example is finished in metallic silver with a custom black fabric interior adorned with the Wolfsburg Crests with thin silver bumpers front and rear. The dash is a minimal silver design with integrated custom gauges and steering wheel. The front trunk is finished in a black carpet with logos.
The power is supplied by 1600cc mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. The wheels and tires 15" with silver rims and VW moon hub caps for a very clean look.
The Karmann Ghia was limited in production numbers from the start and to this day few have survived to date. If you have always wanted one of these then this is the car for you. Step in and step back to a simpler and cooler time.
