Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1979 International Scout II. Built from 1961-1980 as an off-road competitor to Jeep. The Scout was produced as a two-door SUV or a two-door pickup. When the second-generation Scout II started production in 1971 a two-door truck with a removable hardtop with options including a full-length roof, half-cab pickup and a soft top version. An array of six- or eight-cylinder engines were available along with three-speed, four-speed manual, and automatic transmission options.
This 1979 International Scout II is equipped with a 304 ci IH Naturally Aspirated V-8 engine. The four-speed manual transmission is attached to front and rear axles with front lockout hubs. Recent upgrades under the hood include an aluminum radiator, rebuilt steering box, and master cylinder. A set of BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain tires are mounted on beautiful alloy wheels. Newer shocks, steering stabilizers power steering and power front disk brakes make for a great handling truck. Orange paint with a full white top and a period earth tone plaid cloth interior make for one handsome truck.
