The Dodge M37 ¾ -ton 4x4 truck was introduced in 1951 and used extensively in the Korean War. Prototypes were based on the WC series Dodge vehicles used in World War II. Notable changes included a conventional pickup bed replacing the platform on the older vehicles that simplified production. At 15’10” x 6’11” and 5,917 lbs curb weight, this 1955 example is a serious vehicle! Power was originally supplied by an inline 6 Dodge “L” Head plant rated at 78 hp. This M37 has been updated to include a 350 cid Chevrolet V8 mated to a rebuilt Turbo 400 manual transmission and Dana 70 rear end. The build was done in 2011-2012 using an original 1955 body. The pickup bed has been fabricated in ½’ sheet aluminum and the Rhino-coated to match the stock color. The Fuel lines, hoses, exhaust system and drive shaft have been replaced with new. Additional features include power steering and locking hub and night-vision interior lighting. This cool military style truck is located at our Milwaukee showroom.
