The Model 300 featured a 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder rated at 225 hp while the Model 400 stepped up to the plate with a 4.0 liter V-8 that produced 300 hp and 310 t-lbs of torque. In 1997, Lexus touted the GS 400 as the “World’s Fastest Production Sedanâ€. The engine saw several upgrades over the years and in 2008, the GS 460 boasted a new 4.6 liter V8 with an 8-speed automatic transmission generating an impressive 342 hp and 339 ft-lbs of torque. Lexus reported a 0-60 mph time at 5.4 seconds! Styling was also refreshed including a revised front bumper, headlights and grille. The interior received a redesigned steering wheel, revised instrument gauge cluster and trim pieces.
