The car is powered by the Jaguar developed 3.9 Liter V8 which was used in the Lincoln LS of the same time. This V8 provided ample power at 280 HP. The Thunderbird has the flexibility of having a folding fabric convertible top, as well as a removable hard top with instantly recognizable port hole windows. Ford brought back the Thunderbird after a short hiatus for the 2002 model year with a retro designed body made to mimic the first-generation Thunderbirds.
