The Chieftain was only made for a short span of 9 years consisting of 3 generations/body styles ever offered. 1958 representing the only year of what is the 3rd generation Chieftain, makes this a harder to find styled car than most. The car comes with a tasteful 2-toned red and white paint job that speaks very well to 1950s nostalgia. The exterior is matched perfectly to a 2-tone red and white interior, making this car an eye-popping beautiful package to buy into. The Pontiac is powered by a 370 cubic inch V8 which is fueled through a Tri-Power carburetor setup, meaning 3 2-barrel carburetors in line. The V8 is also a T395 A PM optioned motor that was of NASCAR specification in the 50s which resulted in a hefty 330 horsepower. The moment you turn the key forward you notice the throaty sound of the motor letting you know that the car is packing horsepower rated ahead of its time. The V8 is backed by a Hydro-Matic 2-speed automatic transmission offering smooth operation during top down cruises in this attention getting machine. The Chieftain also has had a nice little update consisting of an electric fuel pump which makes starting this car a lot easier when you don't need to crank the starter for a couple minutes before the gas has reached the carburetor. Finally, the car comes well optioned, but the one thing that should stand out is that the convertible top is powered. So when the weather is nice out and you're ready to take the top down, you can do it from the comfort of sitting down in the drivers seat.
