1948 Chrysler Rat Rod

Gateway Classic Cars is fired up in presenting this 1948 Chrysler Rat Rod for sale at the Milwaukee Showroom. Nothing says personalizing a vehicle to your liking like building a rat rod. Going on the principal of combining leftover parts from various vehicles, fusing in performance orientation, and incorporating unique show stopping style; this Chrysler truly takes the cake. The 1948 body which has a custom silver and black patina matched to the front grille sits on a fully custom-built frame which houses the rear axle setup out of a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado as well as the control arm setup out of the same vehicle. The rear axle is also held in by a 4-link setup and propped up by a full air-bag suspension setup fed by dual compressor motors going to a single oversized tank in which the extra volume allows for faster response time from the airbags. The custom ride is powered by a 350 cubic inch small block Chevrolet which features an Edelbrock carburetor, aluminum intake and longtube headers which go back to a chambered muffler making for a loud attention getting sound. The small block is backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission operated by a custom long shifter with a stylish handle reminiscent of punching knuckles. The customizations do not stop there though. The back of the rod has a custom removable roof rack that lays overtop of the air tank setup. This ride has also had power windows installed as well as a Pioneer aftermarket radio head unit going down to panel mounted speakers which can be best seen when the custom green led lighting is illuminated. The Chrysler also features power steering and disc brakes making for an easy driving experience for your next day out to the car show.
