The Corvair makes it's stamp on American automobile history by being the only rear mounted air cooled engine powered mass produced vehicle in American history. It was originally made to be an economy car as a direct competitor to the Volkswagen Beetle, Ford Falcon, and Plymouth Valiant and it brought a good level of success as the model sold over 200,000 per year in the first six years of it's production. This car in particular is a fine example of how a fine restored one looks featuring a jaw dropping glossy turquoise blue paint job which is nicely set off by the gorgeous chrome fixtures and custom chrome wheels wrapped in low profile radial tires. Under the rear hood of this one-of-a kind Corvair is an air-cooled flat 6-cylinder engine with an overhead valve configuration. This flat 6 is attached to a 2-speed automatic transmission which is operated by a switch on the dash. This car is bound to show just as good in person as it does in it's pictures. This is one of the most smooth driving Corvairs that anyone will ever drive.
