Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1962 International Harvester Scout for sale in our Indianapolis Showroom. After seeing the compact size and strict utilitarianism of the Willy's Jeep, International Harvester began to design what would later become the Scout in the late 1950s, with the goal of producing a compact off-road vehicle that would rival the Jeep while being a bit more civilized for daily driving purposes. While the market for this type of vehicle was limited at the time of the conception of the Scout, International Harvester would go on to make a huge splash in the market which opened the door for the plethora of SUV models we see on the road today. This Scout is of the half-cab pickup variety, but still maintains the ability to completely remove the top. The 152 cubic inch inline-four mated to a 3-speed manual transmission allows this Scout to be able to get wherever it needs to be on the farm while not burning a large amount of fuel. The teal paint and white top brighten up this utilitarian vehicle, and the white and black leather interior bring a touch of luxury to the otherwise-spartan interior. A substantial amount of money has been spent on this Scout in the past two years (invoices included), so the next owner of this beauty can rest assured knowing this Scout has been well taken care of.
This Scout pickup is for sale in our Indianapolis showroom and can be seen in fantastic detail including 100+ HD photos and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
