The 2500cc motor featured two single barrel carburetors known as the dual Stromberg. The carburetor was developed specifically for the U.S market as its fuel injected sister known as the TR5 did not meet emission standards. The TR-250 was described as being a small, simple, and reliable sports car. From the factory the TR-250 was given disc brakes that provided dynamic stopping power which is to be expected with nibble example of British sportiness.
