The Buick Grand sport first came available in 1964 as the answer to Pontiac's GTO that was offering performance vehicles under the GM umbrella. The second-generation body became available in 1968. In 1970 The Buick Grand Sport GSX hit the market with its massive 455 cubic inch motor producing 350-HP and 510 ft-lb's of jaw dropping torque.
This 1972 Buick Skylark GSX tribute has a period correct 455 paired to a Th-400 automatic transmission. This car features some modern updates including air conditioning, and a modern center stack that is even equipped with GPS and a backup camera. The sound system in this car can easily be heard over the rumble of the motor with its massive subs located in the trunk and the 6.5 component speakers. The Holley carburetor on the 455 is a 750 cfm on top of an aluminum intake manifold from TA performance. The engine is dressed up with headers also from TA Performance. Rear end is a 8.5 10 bolt with a 3.42 Posi. Additional options on the skylark are power steering, power brakes, vinyl interior, and rally wheels.
