General Motors introduced the Buick Riviera in 1963 entering the first time into the prestigious "personal luxury car" class. The second generation of the Riviera was introduced in 1966 and running to 1970. The 1968 models had reshaped front and rear loop-type bumpers that incorporated the recessed crosshatch grille and tail lamps. Also new for 1968 models were hidden wiper arms. The interior was restyled and unlike the 1966 and 1967 models it shared its instrument panel with the other full size Buick models. This 1968 Buick Riviera is powered by its original, rebuilt 430 CID V8 engine (rated at 360 horsepower and 475 ft./lbs. of torque from the factory) and is backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine went through a rebuild just 3,000 miles ago as well as the transmission being serviced that will allow years of enjoyment behind the wheel of this classic Buick.
