For sale is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 located in our Indianapolis showroom. 1969 was a year like no other for muscle cars coming out of Detroit. With engines getting bigger and horsepower numbers growing to ridiculous amounts the last thing really on anyone's mind was handling. This is where the Z/28 was totally different. The Camaro was really never intended to be a true muscle car, after all Chevy had the Chevelle for that. The Camaro was Chevrolet's entry into the pony car war that Ford had cornered with its Mustang, which was their weapon of choice for the Trans-Am series. The Z/28 came in and totally destroyed the competition in 1969 with Team Penske winning half the total races, and placing 2nd place only twice. This particular Camaro is a true Z/28 backed up by the X33 designation on the cowl tag. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is powered by its rebuilt 355 CID V8 engine, backed by a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission, and running to a 12 Bolt rear end. The original 302 has been replaced by a rebuilt 355 CID V8 but the original Muncie M20 is still in the car and was professionally rebuilt last year. This Z/28 is sporting an older repaint back to its original Burgundy color with a black vinyl top and black stripes. According to the data plate this car originally came out of the factory painted in a Burgundy exterior color but with a Parchment vinyl top and white stripes. Options on this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 for sale include: AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, Power Brakes (Front Disc/Rear Drum), Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Rally Wheels, and Raised White Letter Radial Tires. If you are looking for a car that you can actually drive and not have to worry about ruining its "pedigree" but still want something that is collectible look no further. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 for sale is located in our Indianapolis Showroom and can be seen in greater detail, including an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
