For sale is a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS located in our Indianapolis showroom. In 1967, Chevrolet brought out the Camaro as their answer to Ford's Mustang. Often referred to as a "Pony Car" the first generation Camaros were compact, beautifully styled, affordable, and had a great level of sportiness. 1968 models saw a few design changes over the previous model year which included the elimination of the vent windows, below the dash air vents were added in the interior, and side marker lights were added to the front fenders and rear quarter panels. The Rally Sport (RS) option was an appearance only package that included hideaway headlights, backup lights under the rear bumper, and special exterior trim. The cowl tag on this Camaro indicates that it rolled off the assembly line painted in a beautiful Corvette Bronze exterior paint and finished with a Black interior. The car has been repainted back to its factory color and looks and shows great. The interior was also nicely finished with front bucket seats and a center console housing a Hurst shifter and gauge pack. This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS is powered by its 383 CID Stroker V8 engine, backed by a Borg Warner T10 4-speed manual transmission, and running to a 12 bolt rear end with 3.73. The small block under the hood began its life as a 350 CID, four bolt main block that was then bored and stroked out to a 383 CID monster. The small block is outfitted with an Erson Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam, Roller Rockers, Bowtie Vortec Iron Heads, Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap Intake, and an Edelbrock 650 CFM Carburetor. Exhaust fumes are exited out through a set of Ceramic Coated Headers and into a dual 3" Flowmaster exhaust system with X-pipe and has that classic muscle car tone.
