Vinyl InteriorIn 1970 Dodge needed an answer for the Mustang and Camaro. They revived an old nameplate from 1959 and the Challenger was re-born! Dodge offered several trim levels for the all new Challenger in 1970. Perhaps the MOST radical was the R/T (Rapid/Transit) 440 six-pack. At a blistering 390 bhp the R/T 440 six-pack became one of the most popular and powerful pony cars of the muscle car era. The frame-off restoration of this tribute car is one of the nicest that we have seen. The engine bay that houses the 440 six-pack received the same attention as the frame, body and interior. Chrome and pink accents under the hood match the stunning exterior. The functional shaker hood breathes life into the three carburetors and the classic 440 big block. Dodge was known for their extreme color options and while colors such as Sublime Green, Plum Crazy and Top Banana were popular, one of the most rare and radical color choices was Pink Panther. This ’70 R/T Challenger clone embraces the bold color and SCREAMS 1970 muscle! Equal attention was paid to the interior during the restoration process. Equipped with the desirable SE (Special Edition) interior package, this R/T Challenger comes with the highly sought after pistol grip shifter controlling the three speed automatic transmission and center console as well as the hard to find overhead console and power windows. Other options include factory 15 inch rallye wheels, optional rallye instrument cluster, radial tires and aftermarket AM/FM CD player.
