For sale in our Orlando showroom is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro VIN - 12437N568444 Real "X33" Camaro Z/28,not a clone. The VIN properly decodes as an "8 cylinder 1969 Camaro Sport Coupe" with the sequence number consistent with the December 1968 production date. The cowl tag decodes the Assembly Date "12C" (3rd week of December) at the Norwood, OH assembly plant, Paint Code "57 57" (Fathom Green), Trim "711" (Black, Bucket Seats) and "X33" (Z/28 w/z21 style trim). The "X3" factory crayon marking is still visible on the metal bracing behind the upper rear seat. The markings "X3" or "X7" were made on the assembly line for the workers to identify the type of trim package to be installed on Z/28's. This "X33" Z/28's engine has a date correct DZ302 engine, ID# "V0815DZ" stamped on the block, decoding as a "1969 Camaro,302 CID Special Performance Package,290 HP, DZ". The engine block casting number is "GM3970010" and decodes as a 1969 Camaro. The engine has the correct "double hump" heads {3927186 with Ll and L12 date codes). The engine also has the correct "Winters Snowflake" intake,"772" fan,"837" alternator and "692" water pump. The car has power front disc brakes with rear drum brakes. The brake system was just gone thru with a new' master cylinder, front brake calipers and hoses installed. The emergency brake system also works as it should. The transmission is a numbers matching Muncie 4 speed w/ Hurst shifter, correct VIN and date codes present. The rear axle is stamped "BV_G2",decoding as a "1969 Camara,4.10 Posi-Trac, manufactured at the Detroit assembly plant, December 1968",casting date "L18-8". The car has 4 "YH" code Rally wheels with excellent "BF Goodrich" radial tires. The trunk has a Rally spare and tire with a new trunk mat. The car ha's a recently installed dual performance exhaust system with the factory exhaust support mounting plate (unique to Z/28's) present on the left rear frame rail. The car is equipped with exhaust headers.
The body is extremely solid and straight and there are no signs of rust or damage visible. The paint has a glossy finish and the striping is painted, not decals. The gap alignments on the hood, doors and trunk are very good and all shut without any rattles or looseness. The underside looks excellent and there are no signs of rust or damage on the original floor pans or trunk pan. All door and window glass is in very good condition and appears original with the "soft-ray" tint markings. The windshield is also in very good condition without scratching or marks. The interior is extremely nice with no tears or splits in the seat or dash pad. The steering wheel, instruments, dash and console are in very good condition. The car has a new headliner and sun visors installed. The car has the correct seat belts for 5 seating positions and includes the shoulder harnesses for the front seats. The carpet is also in very good condition and has a proper fit in all areas. This Z/28 was ordered without the factory tachometer and console gauge package options, which did not become standard until later in 1969. A console gauge package that includes oilpressure, engine temperature and volt meter has been installed and functioning properly. The factory fuel gauge in the dash is working and accurate. The speedometer and odometer are also accurate. A tachometer has been installed and is also properly working. The original console trim plate is included with the car. The headlights, taillights, turn signals, parking lights, side marker lights, interior lights, wipers, horn, heater and fan are working properly. The car has a new "Retro" Chevrolet AM-FM Radio with a matching Dual Voice Coil speaker. A new heater core and hoses were just installed. A sharp and true "X33" Z/28, not a clone, that runs, drives and looks exceptional.
