Originally Shelby approached Chevrolet to provide a power plant for the initial run of Cobra’s but not wanting in house competition for the Corvette, Chevrolet declined his proposal. Ford on the other hand was searching for any means necessary to provide the Corvette with a challenge and gladly provided the power for what would become one of the greatest GT cars ever produced. This AC replica was built by Classic Motor Carriages which is now known as Street Beasts. This Cobra was built to be cruised and is powered by the ever reliable Ford 302 mated to a C6 automatic transmission.
