Introduced in 1961, the Type III was built to be a more mature counterpart to the more value oriented Beetle. With 3 distinct body styles and a low profile rear engine bay they Type III offered much of the same conveniences of the Beetle with more conventional styling. This 1968 Type III Fastback is finished in a handsome Savannah Beige and sports a Brown vinyl interior. The exterior styling is sleek and in some ways similar to some sports cars of the day. The interior looks straight out of the 60s and features handy auxiliary gauges under the dash. Open the front hood and some may be surprised to see a trunk. Open the rear hood and others may be surprised again to see a trunk! Underneath the trunk floor is a 1800 CC low profile flat 4 that features fuel injection, electronic ignition and has some nice upgrades to make it even more a joy to drive. The transmission is a 4 speed manual and is a pleasure to row through the gears. If you're looking for a unique classic this is the one you want to own! Options include spare tire, jack, seat belts, vinyl interior and rally wheels wrapped in radial tires.
