Introduced in 1970 the RX-2, or Capella as it was marketed in Japan, was Mazda's intermediate alternative to their smaller models. Offering a range of motors in not quite midsize, not quite compact coupe and sedan body styles, the RX-2 was popular with families and singles alike and to this day garner a cult like following. RX-2s fitted with the Wankel Rotary were marketed more like a sports car and fitted with a 5 speed manual they sure drove like one too! This fine 1972 example is powered by a 13B rotary engine fed by a Holley 600 carb and has MSD ignition. Rev this rotary out and it almost sounds like a giant wasp thanks to racing beat headers and muffler. Paired with a 5 speed manual imagine how this car can get up and go! Enough about how this car drives, check out how it looks! This RX-2 has quite a handsome appearance from every angle. At the front you notice the color keyed front chin spoiler and chrome bumper. From the sides your eyes are drawn to the lower body decal, fender mounted mirrors and Konig Rewind Graphite wheels with machined lips. With more tasteful upgrades to the suspension and brakes this car is ready for it's next loving home. If you're looking for a classic import with loads of style this is the one you want to own!
