For sale in our Orlando showroom is a 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne. Introduced in 1958 the Biscayne was part of the group of successors to the wildly popular tri five line up. The Biscayne was marketed towards those wanting a large family sedan without all of the frills normally associated with the Impala. Most of the Biscaynes produced during the first generation were put into fleet duty as taxi cabs and transportation for state dignitaries. Usually they were equipped with the standard straight six but over the years the V8's became more and more popular. This turquoise and green Biscayne is powered by the heaviest hitting V8 option available, the 348CID V8 and backed by a 2 speed power glide automatic transmission. This Biscayne is an older restoration that has held up very well over the years and is in great shape. Under the hood the 348 still provides plenty of power and the power glide shifts effortlessly. This cruiser is built for comfort and comes with all the right amenities such as power steering, AM/FM radio, and air conditioning which makes the next cruise night a true pleasure. These first year Biscaynes are becoming harder to find in unmolested states and in general due to their utilitarian nature were crushed or forgotten about after their usefulness had run its course. This is a great entry level collectible that is sure to gain value over time.
