Vinyl InteriorGateway Classic Cars Philadelphia welcomes this 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS. Equipped with a 454 CI Big Block that has been bored and stroked to 490 cubic inches of Chevy big block power. It is equipped with a Forged crank and rods, GM rectangular port open chamber heads, roller timing chain and an Edelbrock intake. With all that power, it made allot of sense to match it up to a newer 6-speed manual transmission. That sounds easy but required allot of fabrication and it was worth it. The build was completed about three years and 8000 miles ago. It was very extensive and included a complete overhaul of the suspension. Everything was freshened up with all new bushings, beefed up sway bars, a 12-bolt rear to replace the 10 bolt and even a new gas tank. The rear has an Eaton clutch type posi unit with 3:73 gears, 30 spline axels all new bearings and seals. The engine compartment has been completely refurbished and includes enough chrome to catch your attention and let you know that she is special. The exterior has been done in Dark Red and is accented with a set of Classis Cragar SS wheels. The inside is a Classic Chevrolet bucket seat interior with manual transmission and center console with clock. There are aftermarket gauges mounted under the dash as well to monitor the engines vital signs. The Impala SS is one of the Icons of American Muscle and this one does not disappoint in any way.
