Finished in Red it is 1/ 2585 built for the model year. Entering the full-size sport truck marketplace in 1993, the SVT F-150 Lightning brought a more balanced approach to high-performance pickups. Instead of focusing only on straight-line acceleration, Lightning added sporty handling and towing functionality to the mix. It could lap a race course as fast or faster than a Mustang GT of the same vintage. It could also tow up to 5,000 pounds. Developed by the F-150 team and given to SVT to market, the Lightning featured a high-output 351 cubic-inch V-8 rated at 240 horsepower, good for 0-60 mph sprints in the mid 7-second rang and quarter-mile times in the mid-15s. This Lightning takes that to a higher level thanks to the addition of a Vortec Supercharger. SVT and Ford of course are famous for their supercharged super cars and trucks but in 93 the Lightning was naturally aspirated. The engineers at Ford would not add a supercharger to the Lightning until 1997. Performance enthusiasts are drawn to the Lightning, as illustrated by the number of owners who brought their hot-rodding ways to the truck. Making vehicles like this one very hard to find. The original owner kept this truck for 17 years and it had under 10,000 miles on it in 2010 when he sold it.
