Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is please to be able to offer this very nicely restored 1981 Toyota BJ40 Land Cruiser. This 1981 BJ40 comes to us as a fully restored driver & was purchased Sept. 2022 from Fayetteville, GA. This 1981 Toyota Land Cruiser is an exceptional example of a nicely redone, driver quality, BJ40. Powered by the well-known Toyota 3.0L I-4 diesel that is teamed up to a 4-speed manual & a dual-range transfer case, this diesel cruiser is ready for adventure! Finished in a Classic JDM Matte Tan with newer OEM black vinyl upholstery, this shows like a dream. All panels are nicely aligned & in proper order, and the undercarriage is just as nice with only minor surface rust showing on the exhaust. The mechanical upgrades are listed from the shop in GA. that originally did the restoration (we do not have their documents to verify, but the listing is still on line) are as follows: Upgraded 2" lift, Bilstein shocks, newer steel wheels & some "like new, still blue" B.F. Goodrich All-Terrain TA's. Also installed was the upgraded AM/FM/USB/AUX/Bluetooth audio system with 4 speakers and an under-seat mounted sub, soft top, 1/2 doors, troop-style flip up rear seats and the ambulance rear doors. The current new gauge cluster & odometer are showing 1,320 kilometers; however, the true mileage is not documented. The previous owner/builder stated that the odometer was at replaced at 22,384 kilometers and at that about 15k kilometers, the rear main seal, hoses, filters, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, fan & belt were all replaced, along with an extra-large 900 CCA battery, an upgraded 80 amp. alternator & a vacuum pump conversion was added. All internals for the clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing & pilot bearing are all said to have been replaced using OEM parts from FJParts.com, as well as rebuilt internals in the clutch slave cylinder, a new return bearing, new fork dust boot and a complete, newly installed parking brake kit. This is but a small portion of items listed that have either been rebuilt or replaced on this BJ40, so if a true off-road vehicle is what you're after, this is an example of a Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 that is still affordable!
