Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this 1950 Chevrolet 3100 refinished in a fresh shade of blue. Post WWII, all Automobile manufacturers were in a little bit of a scramble to come up with the next "Big" thing as just after the War ended, everyone was just using the same designs before they were forced to shut down and build military vehicles. So, now these designs were over ten years old and people wanted something new. For GM and trucks that were still deemed commercial and farm use vehicles it was the "Advance-Design which was their light and medium truck series that would be produced from 1947-1955. Tucked between the rounded front fenders sits the bright orange 235CID inline 6 motor mated up to a 3-speed manual transmission with an extra low gear. The cab features a reupholstered brown vinyl bench seat with matching door panels and headliner, a rubber floor mat, and a color matched dashboard. Equipment includes a cab heater, an ashtray, and lap belts. A color matched three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 90-mph speedometer and a combination gauge consisting of a fuel gauge, battery charge, oil pressure and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows just over 4k miles, although the total mileage is unknown. This is a nicely built, ready to roll custom 1950 that will easily be a show winner!
