1971 Dodge Challenger

For sale in our Scottsdale showroom is this outstanding 1971 Dodge Challenger all American Muscle Car. This Car is finished in stunning “Go Mango” orange and has been modified as a tribute Challenger R/T with the addition of side stripes, dual chrome side mirrors, quick release gas cap cover and of course a “Go Wing” rear spoiler. The sheet metal is very straight and paint is excellent, this mean Mopar has a very high-quality finish and appearance. This car started life with a small block under the hood and that of course just would not do, the current engine is a period era correct 440 CID big block topped off with a Carter 4-barrel carburetor. With dual custom full-length exhaust, x-pipe and Magnaflow mufflers the sound coming from this big block bad boy is muted but menacing. The engine has factory high performance exhaust manifolds and a Pertronix electronic ignition system. The 14-inch Rallye wheels are also period correct and in great shape, a perfect complement to this classic Mopar, the Rallye wheels are fitted with P24560R14 BF Goodrich T/A Radials. The outside chrome and bright work are very good and the glass is in great condition as well. Almost everything on this Mopar Muscle car has been redone, replaced or refurbished. The Torqueflite 3 speed automatic transmission was overhauled about 300 miles ago. This Mopar has new shocks and suspension parts, a rebuilt steering gear and pump and new u-joints for smooth highway cruising. Four wheel drum brakes and power steering finish off the chassis.Inside this fantastic automobile you will find a very nice interior that is just as the Dodge designers intended. There is a factory installed a/c control panel, under dash unit and vents that has been upgraded with a modern lightweight “Sanden” style compressor using R134 Freon and the a/c blows ice cold. There is a floor push button shifter located between the bucket seats that lets you control the power of that big block engine. The original radio has been removed and is included, the dash awaits your personalized sound system, or just listen to the music of that big block Mopar!
